Garlic sauce: a simple homemade recipe

  • Prepare ingredients: mayonnaise and sour cream should be chilled. It is better to choose thick sour cream, with a fat content of 20% or 30%. But, if you want to reduce the calorie content of the sauce, you can take 10%. But then it would be logical to use lightweight mayonnaise with reduced fat content. In this case, the sauce will be quite liquid.

    For regular garlic sauce according to a simple homemade recipe, you will need mayonnaise “Provencal” or with the addition of garlic. It is better to use fresh garlic itself, it makes it more aromatic and tastier.

    Dill complements garlic sauce nicely, but if you don't like it, use parsley or cilantro. You can use other greens too.     Squeeze the juice from the lemon and pour it into the sauce. If you are using a whole lemon, roll it around the table, softening the thick walls, then cut it in half and squeeze it through a sieve with your hand to avoid any small seeds.

    Finely chop the dill, removing thick stems.

    Add dill to sour cream and mayonnaise, stir with a spoon until combined.
