Navy pasta in a frying pan

Detailed step-by-step recipe with photos: Step 1

  • Prepare food. You can use any minced meat: beef will give a rich taste, pork will give a milder taste, and chicken will give a lighter taste. If you use homemade minced meat, make sure it is well rolled and without large veins. Choose a hard cheese: Parmesan, Russian, cheddar — any that melts well and adds flavor to the dish. Immediately prepare garlic, onions, pureed tomatoes and spices so that everything is at hand.

  • Step 2

Place a large pot of water on the stove; the pasta needs plenty of space to prevent it from sticking together. Add a teaspoon of salt. When the water is actively boiling, add the pasta and stir gently so that it does not stick to the bottom. Cook until al dente, slightly undercooked, so they will retain their shape during subsequent stewing.

  • Step 3

Carefully drain the water from the finished pasta through a colander. Rinse with cold water — this will stop the cooking process and prevent them from sticking together. Allow the water to drain completely. You can add a teaspoon of vegetable oil and mix.

  • Step 4

Peel the onion and cut into cubes. Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until soft, fragrant and slightly golden. It is important that the onions do not burn; there is no need for bitterness in this dish.

  • Step 5

Add the minced meat to the onion, mash it with a spatula to break up large lumps. Fry for 7–10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The minced meat should completely change color and become crumbly. Make sure that it does not gather into dense lumps — even roasting ensures a rich taste.

  • Step 6

Pour in the pureed tomatoes, add salt and pepper to taste. Squeeze the garlic through a press. Stir and simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes. The sauce should thicken slightly, become bright and rich — this is the basis for the taste of future pasta.

  • Step 7

Place the pasta in the pan with the meat sauce. Mix carefully, trying to distribute the sauce throughout the entire mass, each piece should be covered with the tomato mixture. Cover with a lid and simmer for 3-4 minutes over low heat.

  • Step 8

Remove the pan from the heat. Place hot pasta on plates. Immediately sprinkle with grated cheese.

  • Step 9

Sprinkle finely chopped herbs on top — parsley, dill or green onions. Greens will add freshness and make the dish brighter and more beautiful.

Ready-made navy-style pasta in a frying pan turns out very aromatic, juicy and satisfying. Each pasta is coated with a thick tomato sauce and small pieces of fried minced meat, which provide a rich meaty taste. This is a simple but incredibly tasty option for a quick and complete lunch. Bon appetit!
