Turkey baked in the oven in foil

Preparation: Step 1

  • To begin with, prepare all products for the recipe for turkey laid in the oven in foil. The main thing is quality.

Select the turkey fillet cooled, light pink, without unnecessary moisture. It should be elastic and smell of fresh meat. It is preferable to farm or from a trusted manufacturer.

Take the olive oil of cold spin (Extra Virgin) — it will give saturation.

Teriyaki sauce is thick, dark, without artificial additives.

Paprika is freshly ground, with a bright aroma.

The zest of orange can be rubbed independently, from a well -washed fruit, if there is no seasoning.

Dried garlic use in flakes or ground.

And squeeze lemon juice from fresh lemon — it will give the dish the desired sourness.

  • Step 2

Rinse the turkey fillet thoroughly under cool running water. Bake it with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture. This is an important point: if the meat is wet, the marinade will lie unevenly and will not penetrate deeper into the fibers.

  • Step 3

Evenly salt and pepper the turkey from all sides. It is better to use coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper — they taste brighter and reveal the aroma.

💡 Tip: for a juicy turkey, especially if it is prepared in foil, it is important not to overdo it with salt — it stretches moisture.

  • Step 4

In a deep bowl, mix olive oil, teriyaki sauce and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly with a whisk or fork until a homogeneous consistency.

  • Step 5

Add paprika, dried garlic and orange zest to the mixture.

  • Step 6

Mix everything thoroughly again — it will turn out a bright, fragrant and slightly thick marinade for a turkey.

  • Step 7

It is good to cover the turkey fillet with a marinade from all sides. It is best to rub the mixture with your hands — so the marinade will penetrate the fibers better.

At this stage, I recommend sending a turkey to the refrigerator for 5-6 hours, and better — at night. During this time, a turkey with a Teriaka sauce will have time to soak in aromas and will become especially tender. But if there is no time, you can pickle about half an hour at room temperature.

  • Step 8

Transfer the turkey into a baking dish, having previously covered it with several layers of foil. Pour the remains of the marinade on top. Gently wrap the fillet into foil, forming a dense envelope — it should not pass air. This method allows you to bake turkey in your own juice and preserve juiciness.

💡 Advice: When wrapping the foil, do not leave holes — so the meat certainly does not dry out.

  • Step 9

Heat the oven to 180 ° C. Put the shape with a turkey to the average level and bake the fillet for 40-50 minutes, depending on the size. 10 minutes before the end of the baking, you can carefully expand the foil on top — so that a golden crust forms.

  • Step 10

After the oven, let the meat rest for 10-15 minutes under the foil. This will help the juice evenly distribute and preserve the juiciness of the turkey.

  • Step 11

The turkey baked in the oven in foil is incredibly aromatic, soft and juicy. It is tasty both hot and chilled — after baking it can be thinly chopped and served like a snack, use for sandwiches to breakfast or simply add to the salad.

And as a side dish, baked vegetables, cinema, rice or buckwheat are suitable for such meat — choose your taste and mood 🙂

    Bon appetit!
