For this recipe for an alcohol drink at home, we will need the following products: medium -sized lemons, 96% alcohol (it can be bought at a pharmacy), water (preferably purified) and granulated sugar.

We take lemons and thoroughly wash them in warm water, then wipe them dry. Now we need to remove the zest from the fruit — this is the upper yellow part of the peel. Remember that it is very important not to cut the white layer, otherwise the finished liquor will turn out to be bitter.

We put the lemon zest into a two -liter (or any suitable volume) can and fill in alcohol. The dishes must be tightly closed with a lid and left to infuse in a warm dark place for about two weeks. For better release of essential oils from lemon zest into alcohol, it is advisable to not forget to shake the contents of the can once a day.
Step 4
When the allotted time comes to an end, we filter the resulting lemon tincture — a sieve or gauze is suitable for this. We no longer need the zest. So far, we’ll close the tincture so tightly with something so that degrees do not leave.

At the next stage, prepare the syrup — we measure the required amount of water and granulated sugar.

Pour water into the pan, heat it, add sugar and cook the syrup until sweet crystals are completely dissolved. After that, suck sugar syrup to room temperature. Mix alcohol lemon tincture with sugar syrup, mix everything thoroughly, pour into beautiful bottles, clog and insist for a week.

After all the manipulations, the homemade liquor Limonchello will be ready to use. I advise you to store this amazing drink in the freezer and serve it in very chilled form. As promised, I talk about the option with vodka (when there is no alcohol and there is nowhere to take it). The recipe for homemade lemoncello on vodka is almost no different from the above — we replace alcohol with 700 ml of high -quality vodka (if you think to use moonshine, this is not worth it — the taste and aroma will not be the same), and we reduce the amount of water by 200 milliliters. True, this case of the lemon liquor will turn out to be a smaller fortress.
