    Prepare the necessary ingredients for a compote of sea buckthorn.

    This is not a compote for the winter, not a workpiece, this can be prepared at least every day, quickly, from a fresh sea buckthorn or frozen.

    When using a frozen berry, it must be taken out in advance from the freezer and defrost in the refrigerator. To maintain the beneficial properties of the berry, do not defrost in the microwave.

    I will use the fresh sea buckthorn that I collected in my country house.

    It is useful to know! Juices, fruit drinks, wine, tinctures, teas, and different desserts are prepared from sea buckthorn. The berries contain a lot of vitamins of group B, A, E, C, N, K. In the seapic there are many trace elements: sodium, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium. Berries are rich in organic acids, pectin, proteins, amino acids.

    Sea buckthorn improves the condition of the body with colds, pneumonia, gastrointestinal tract disorders, and this is not the entire list of positive properties of the berries. From the berries, sea buckthorn oil is obtained, which reduces blood cholesterol levels, heals wounds. It is useful to eat sea buckthorn drinks with reduced immunity — children, pregnant, nursing, elderly.

    People with some diseases should not use sea buckthorn: pancreatic diseases, liver, gall bladder, urolithiasis, acute diarrhea.

  • Step 2

    Short the berries of sea buckthorn. Remove leaves, twigs, defective fruits. Pour cold water and rinse well, mixing with your hands to remove all dust and dirt. If there are insects in the berries, they will come to the surface.

  • Step 3

    Choose a suitable dishes for cooking sea buckthorn compote.

    You need to choose the dishes based on the accounting of the number of finished drink and the acidity of the berries. I use a stewpan with a volume of 1 liter. For cooking compote, enameled, cast -iron, glass, stainless dishes are suitable. I use stainless steel stewpan. Dishes of this material are suitable for cooking compotes from any berries and fruits. In such containers, the products are not oxidized, and when heated, salts of heavy metals are not excreted. After cooking, the compote can be stored directly in the pan.

    Pour sugar. Pour in water.

    I recommend using bottled or purified water. Do not use water from under the tap, as it gives an unpleasant taste to the finished dish.

    Send a container with sugar and water to moderate fire and bring to a boil, stirring so that all sugar dissolves.

  • Step 4

    Pour the prepared sea buckthorn berries into the boiling sweetened water. Mix and bring to a boil. Boil on fire below the average 5 minutes.

    Due to the fact that we abandoned the berries into boiling water, they will retain more useful substances.

  • Step 5

    Lightly knead the berries with a spoon so that the compote turns out to be more saturated in taste and color. Again, mix well and let it boil. Cook over low heat for another 5 minutes so that the sea buckthorn gives its juice to the maximum.

    At this step, you can taste and, if necessary, add more sugar. You can not use sugar in the recipe, and after insisting to taste add honey.

  • Step 6

    Disconnect the fire. Cover with a lid. Leave to brew for 10 minutes. During this time, the compote will become even more saturated.

  • Step 7

    In winter, you can drink sea buckthorn compote in warm form. In the summer, I prefer to completely cool to room temperature, then send it to the refrigerator until completely cool, strain (you can squeeze the cake well through gauze) and enjoy.
