Preparation: Step 1
-
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the preparation of homemade mulled wine.
For the drink, I recommend choosing red dry or semi -dry wine. It should be with a pronounced taste and aroma. Such varieties as Cabernet Sovignon, Merlo, Shiraz, Sanjoveze are best suited. These wines have enough structures and depths of taste so as not to get lost among spices and fruit additives. It is important that the wine is not too sweet or sour, so as not to interrupt the taste of spices.
For mulled wine, several types of fruits and berries are traditionally used, which go well with wines and spices, giving the drink aroma and light sweet: orange, lemon, pear, kiwi, apples, grenades, raspberries, currants, blackberries, blueberries.
Spices play a key role in the aroma and taste of mulled wine. Most often, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger are used, nutmeg, badiyan, vanilla, black pepper and fragrant, bay leaf, mint. An important rule is not to overdo it with the number of spices so as not to drown out the taste of wine and fruits. It is better to start with a small amount and try, adding spices to taste.

Miss ginger well with the skin. Cut into thin circles. Dip the remaining ingredients into the pan.

Step 14
How much is the homemade mulled wine?
If you need to save the drink after cooking, it is better to cool it and put it in the refrigerator. It can be stored from 2 to 3 days in airtight packaging. However, over time, its taste will change, and the aroma of spices and fruits can become less bright.
With repeated heating, you should not bring mulled wine to a boil so as not to lose the taste. I do not recommend freezing mulled wine, as this may affect the taste. I just cover a pan with a drink with a baking film and send it to a cool place.
